How to Crochet a Christmas Tree Skirt

Christmas tree skirts come in a variety of styles and sizes. When we were kids we use to purchase a real tree and wrap a bed sheet around the bottom. It was nothing fancy and since all of the presents hid the skirt it didn't matter.

Now the stores features all sorts of tree skirts from the commercial to the elegant. A favorite tree skirt for under our Christmas tree is the one I crocheted years ago. Christmas tree skirts can be made in solid colors of white, red or green, or using multiple yarn colors and adding special touches in the mix. Many Christmas tree skirts are made using bulky yarn or holding two strands together. Although single strand yarn can make a beautiful tree skirt.

Yarns in Christmas colors such as red, greens and whites are available around the Christmas season. Blue and white snowflake Christmas tree skirts are also popular along with make a skirt in a favorite color such as purples or yellows and browns.

Following a pattern exactly or adding your own touches to the pattern by changing colors or adding a border or additional stripe or flower can make this a one of a kind Christmas decoration.
