Kindle and Nook Craft Patterns

The Amazon Kindle and the Barnes and Noble Nook are two of the most popular book e-readers on the market.

Many readers enjoy carrying their book along with them everywhere they go. Besides downloading books with the Kindle or Nook you can also download craft patterns. From crochet to knitting patterns there are several patterns available at low prices. The patterns range from single patterns to full books. Many of the patterns start at .99 cents and average around $2.99 for books.

The advantage of downloading a pattern on a Kindle or Nook is that a crafter can carry the pattern with them every where they go. This makes it easy to review the pattern, view the photo and refer to it for any changes or mistakes. Crocheters and knitters like to carry their projects with them and an e-reader makes it easy to carry several patterns with you at one time also.

Downloading Crochet and Knitting Patterns

The patterns can be viewed on the Kindle or Nook readers or you can download the patterns Beside downloading patterns on the Kindle or Nook, Amazon and B&N allows users to download items through other applications. Using the available Apps Amazon and B&N offers. Kindle will allow a viewer to download books and patterns on their PC, iPhone, Blackberry, iPad, and Android. While the Nook can be used with the iPad, Blackberry, Anorid, iPad, Nook for PC or laptop, and the Nook for Mac.

One of the interesting things about the Nook is that patterns can be viewed in color if the publisher or writer provides color photos with the download. The Kindle patterns and books are in black and white but with no glare and an easy to use some people just prefer the Kindle.

Once a person decides on a pattern to purchase it's Amazon and Barnes and Noble walks you through the procedure on how to download patterns on the e-reader or through other devices. After downloading the Kindle app on my laptop I found several free books to enjoy along with sampling books and patterns before purchasing one of them.

The advantages of downloading books and patterns are endless. Especially if you have been searching for a specific pattern or out of print book this can be a source for crafters to check out when searching.

I have recently started publishing crochet patterns for the Kindle. It's a lot easier than I expected. Hardest thing is formatting, and I've figured out how to do that with some help from an excellent Kindle article on publishing short articles for the Kindle. I may have to adjust my price however if you're saying single patterns sell for around 99 cents. My thought was that since online patterns typically sell for between $4 and $6, people would be happy to pay $2.99 for one. But I haven't sold that many so price may be a factor if folks are expecting a cheaper price point. Thanks for sharing. Rated up and useful.
